Kuwait Bans Foreigners from Entering Due to Coronavirus
All types of visas will be invalid for travellers of all nationalities who want to enter Kuwait, after the government of the country has decided to close its border to foreigners, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
So far, the number of persons infected with coronavirus in Kuwait has reached 56, the Health Ministry reveals, VisaGuide.World reports.
The major number of cases of coronavirus infection came from Iran, where up to 800 citizens have been evacuated by Kuwait. 54 of them have died so far.
According to the Ministry of Health all passengers arriving from Egypt, Syria, and other countries where the infection is spread will be examined.
Foreigners who hold residencies in Kuwait will also pass through the examination process, in order to enter Kuwait.
According to Mustafa Reda, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, due to the coronavirus increasing number, all passengers will go through medical check-up before they arrive at Kuwait airport.
“Those with a high body temperature will not be allowed to board the plane until they undertake a PCR test and get a negative result on the same day of the travel and their temperatures return back to the normal level,” Reda said.
Before arriving at Kuwait International Airport, passengers will be checked out if they have any symptom of the deadly infection, and if they do not suffer from fever than they will be allowed to enter the country.
The undersecretary claimed that if their temperatures are normal, the passengers will be provided with all relevant instructions and the ministry will follow up their health for 14 days.
“Passengers who do not suffer from fever will have to fill out a medical form and their body temperature will be gauged on the plane gate upon arriving at the Kuwait International Airport. If their temperatures are normal, they will be provided with all relevant instructions and the ministry will follow up their health for 14 days”, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health added.
So far, the number of persons infected by coronavirus has reached in 90,000 while 3,000 persons have lost their lives.
